Notts City Regatta Race Report- Novice Men

Saturday, 21st May 2011

Author: Will Dewing

Last weekend the Novice Men's Squad found themselves at their favourite rowing destination, Holme Pierrepoint, once again. Famed for its calm weather and crime free environment it didn't fail to disappoint. Racing in IM3 was perhaps optimistic but the crew put in a good effort, holding all bar one of the crews for the first 500m. Support from the ranks of club members lining the bank spurred us on but alas we were unable to keep up our performance for the rest of the race and hopes of a Tim Henman* were dashed. A good day was had by all and we add this to our wealth of experience as we head towards competing in the Novice category at bigger regattas with unbounded optimism.
